Everything You Need To “Go Live” | Arlington Entertainment District Guide
Introduction to Arlington Entertainment District
In the modern era of social media, everyone seems to be obsessed with “going live!” I mean, why wouldn’t they? It’s a particularly neat feature that allows individuals to share their content with the world and the communities they’ve built. And personally, I think there’s no better place to “go live” than the Arlington Entertainment District.
Surely if you’ve been here a while, you obviously know how much I love experiences like these. And I’m so excited to share this one with you.
If you’re new, welcome. I’m Eric, and you’re in for a treat. Let’s dive into one of the most vibrant and electric travel experiences one could have, where luxury meets the social butterfly.
Exploring: Inside the Arlington Entertainment District
Firstly, let’s cover some ground. Situated nearly halfway between Dallas and Fort Worth, the city’s entertainment district delivers a travel experience that feels energetic, walkable, and refreshingly well-designed.
Between Texas Live! and two standout Loews hotels (and a third in the development stage), my experience here showed me that Arlington knows how to deliver entertainment and comfort at a high level. I was pleasantly surprised by my visit.
If you’re planning a trip to North Texas or just curious about what goes on here, you’re in good hands. This area alone makes the destination worth a visit.
Texas Live!: The Heart of the Arlington Entertainment Scene
So, let’s get into what you really want to see. Arlington certainly has a pulse, and Texas Live is where you’ll feel it! It’s the most “lively” place you’ll visit on the entire trip, and as a result, I can’t rave about this place enough.
Basically, this massive entertainment complex brings together sports, music, dining, and nightlife under one roof, and somehow makes it all feel cohesive. Whether there’s a major game happening or just a regular night out, the energy stays high without feeling chaotic.
Additionally, there are multiple bars, huge screens, live music, and an open, modern layout that make Texas Live! a natural gathering spot. It’s social, dynamic, and unapologetically fun yet still polished enough to feel intentional rather than overwhelming. Because of this, you can imagine how many tourists line up for a visit.
Their website, linked above, has the list of all the events going on, so you never have to worry about missing out.

Loews Arlington Hotel: Modern Luxury in the Perfect Location
Now, let’s talk about where you’ll stay. Right next door, Loews Arlington Hotel offers a calm, elevated contrast to the buzz outside.
This property feels clean, modern, and thoughtfully designed. The spaces are sleek without being cold, and everything from the rooms to the common areas feels geared toward comfort and ease.
As soon as you step in, you’ll notice the luxury all around.
The biggest perk? Location. Being able to walk straight from the hotel into Texas Live! or toward nearby stadiums makes the entire stay feel seamless. You can just step outside and go without stress or planning hassle.
Live! by Loews: A More Social Take on Luxury
Also just steps away from the previously mentioned hotel, Live! by Loews brings a slightly different energy. I would call this one more social, more playful, but still refined.
That’s why this one is my personal favorite. A young traveler like me appreciates the more social aspects of this property.
This hotel feels connected to the action in a way that’s intentional and fun. The lobby has a welcoming, almost communal vibe, making it a great option if you like your hotel to feel like part of the experience rather than a retreat from it.
It’s stylish, effervescent, and perfectly suited for travelers who want to stay close to the entertainment without sacrificing comfort or design.
And that’s why this is the best option if you prefer to stay in the midst of the mayhem.
Also, River Market at Live! by Loews has some of the best coffee I’ve ever had. Be sure to visit them as well.
Shout-Out: The staff at both properties is absolutely amazing. They are friendly, knowledgeable, and will do everything they can to make your stay as perfectly curated to all your detailed specifications as possible. And a special shout-out to Percenia at Live! Our AT&T stadium view rooms were incredible, and we greatly appreciate your thoughtfulness in your service.
Why the Arlington Entertainment District Works So Well
It is mostly because the entertainment district is incredibly walkable, thoughtfully laid out, and designed with visitors in mind. There’s plenty to do whether traveling solo or with loved ones.
You can:
Grab drinks at Texas Live!
Catch a game or live music
Walk back to a luxury hotel
Do it all without ever needing your car
That kind of convenience makes a huge difference, and it’s something the city does exceptionally well.

Other Important Logistics
For my friends who have never visited the area, I’m including some other important information to help make your trip as smooth and enjoyable as possible.
How to Get to There
Generally, most visitors fly into Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW), the biggest hub for American Airlines, which has flights from all over the U.S. and the world. From DFW, the entertainment district is just a short 15–20-minute drive depending on traffic.
However, Dallas Love Field (DAL) is another option, a few minutes farther, but the primary option for Southwest flyers.
Flight tips
* DFW is larger with more airline choices and usually better pricing flexibility. * DAL can be simpler for domestic trips and sometimes cheaper if you’re flying Southwest.

Rental Cars, Taxis, and Rideshares
Once you land, there are a few different ways to get to the entertainment district area.
Rental Cars
Renting a car gives you freedom to explore (especially if you want day trips or scenic drives).
* Both DFW and DAL have rental car centers with all the big brands you’re used to seeing such as Avis, Enterprise, Hertz, Budget, etc.
* You can also use Turo to snag specific rides (even delivered to an airport or your hotel), which is slick and often less stressful than typical counters.
Pro tip: Renting off-airport (like in the city itself) can sometimes be cheaper than at the big terminals. The nearby Convention Center, in between both Loews hotels, has an on-site Avis rental facility.
Taxis & Rideshares
In addition to rental cars, rideshares are extremely popular in the area.
* Uber/Lyft are everywhere and a reliable choice from DFW/DAL, simple and direct from their apps. Fare varies with demand but is usually reasonable for the short trip into the city.
* Local taxis are also an option, and booking ahead can save stress, especially late at night.
Public & Local Transit
* There’s no big regional rail directly to the city, so public transit options are limited compared to Dallas or Fort Worth.
* That said, rideshare-style services like Arlington On-Demand or Via make getting around town affordable (often $3–$5 rides inside the city).
Getting Around
Lastly, let’s talk about getting around the city, and it’s way easier to get around than you’d expect. If you’re staying inside the entertainment district (like both Loews properties), most of the good stuff is walkable.
The Arlington Trolley runs through the entertainment district and loops by major spots, and if you’re a hotel guest at participating properties, it’s free.
For nights you want to explore beyond the core (restaurants, parks, other districts), rideshares or a rental car make things effortless.
Bonus Tips for Smooth Travel
Plan for traffic
Because you’re in the middle of the DFW metroplex, I always recommend budgeting extra time getting in and out of the airports, especially on event or game days. DFW is one of the largest metropolitan areas in the country. Consequently, traffic can be heavy, especially at peak times.
Car vs. Just Ride
If you’re planning only entertainment district stuff, walking, trolley, and rideshare are sufficient. If you want scenic drives, day trips, or more Texas exploring, having a car is a necessity.
Parking & Roads
Interstate access is straightforward, but some routes use tolls, so apps like TollTag/TxTag or Pay-by-Plate can make things smooth if you’re driving. You can also select the option to include a toll tag in your rental purchase.
Covered parking is available at the Arlington Convention Center, and an outdoor lot is available at the entrance of Texas Live in front of Arlington Backyard.
Heads up! These parking options can be expensive, especially if you plan on being there for a while, so be sure to plan ahead.
Bonus: AT&T Stadium & Globe Life Park
Finally, I have to make sure I connect with any sports fans out there. You’re probably already aware that walking distance from Texas Live are two of our country’s most famous sports venues, AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys, and Globe Life Field, home of the 2023 World Series Champions, the Texas Rangers.
If it’s in-season, I highly recommend catching some sporting events at one of the venues. These venues also offer non-sporting related activities for those who aren’t sports fans. The entertainment district appeals to every traveler, so no one feels left out.
Don’t worry, families! Although an evidently energentic place, you can indeed bring the little ones too.
Final Thoughts: Arlington Is Worth the Trip
Overall, Arlington gets a positive review from me. While this may not always be the first city people think of when planning a Texas trip, it absolutely deserves a spot on the list.
Between the energy of Texas Live! and the comfort and style of Loews Arlington Hotel and Live! by Loews, this area delivers a travel experience that’s fun, polished, and effortless.
If you’re looking for a destination that blends entertainment, walkability, and understated luxury, this city might just energize you as it did me.
And please remember, this is just a guide. It is not meant to be a comprehensive guide. The city has much to offer even outside of the entertainment district. Check the Visit Arlington webpage to check some of those out.
Always feel free to customize your trip to meet your needs and preferences. The best trip is the one YOU want. I am just your friend, guiding and supporting you along the way.
When you do visit, or if you already have, please share your experience with me. As always, I love hearing from you!
