The Ultimate Photo Stop in All of Africa | Giza Necropolis

I know the title is a bit daring, but I promise this landmark is Africa’s photo gem! I’m talking about one of the most famous tourist attractions on the planet, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, the legacy of the Fourth Dynasty of the Old Kingdom of Ancient Egypt: The Pyramids of Giza

Honestly, the pyramids need no introduction for the expert travelers!

The landmark has been well-renowned for many centuries and is only growing in popularity! And once you land at Cairo International, there’s a very cool place you need to get the ultimate souvenir photo!

What Are The Pyramids Of Giza?

It’s okay if you aren’t an expert traveler! As mentioned above, the pyramids are one of the world’s ancient wonders, the last one standing, to be exact!

These massive monuments, which were unsurpassed in height for thousands of years after their construction, continue to amaze and enthrall us with their overwhelming mass and seemingly impossible perfection.

They were built as monuments to commemorate fallen pharaohs, a fact that adds to their historical significance. The three largest and most noticeable from left to right are the Pyramid of Menkaure, the Pyramid of Khafre, and the Great Pyramid of Giza.

Also, a necropolis is just a fancy word for a cemetery! That’s why the pharaohs were buried there.

Where Are The Pyramids Of Giza Located?

The pyramids are located in Giza, Egypt’s third-largest city!

Nestled on the west bank of the Nile and toward the northern tip of the Sahara desert, Giza is a city of unparalleled beauty, often considered one of the most stunning in the Middle East!

For those of you who want to visit, you will want to fly into Cairo International Airport (airport code: CAI) and make the one-hour journey to Giza! Most taxis will take you there for about 200 Egyptian pounds, 4 USD!

Pyramids Of Giza Entrance

There are two entrances to the Pyramids of Giza: one near the Great Pyramid of Khufu and another closer to the Great Sphinx. Getting to the pyramids is a breeze, especially from Cairo!

The Giza Plateau is a mere 15 kilometers (9 miles) from Cairo city center, making it incredibly convenient for you to visit! While you can simply type “Giza Necropolis” into Google Maps to get there, I recommend a bus-guided tour or Uber for a more enjoyable journey to the entrance points.

Keep in mind that there are scammers around the Giza complex trying to sell you false tickets, so I’ll guide you on the best way to get to and enter the complex!

How To Visit The Pyramids Of Giza

Visiting the pyramid complex is easy! Enough information exists to support a solo journey, and tickets are inexpensive! For those of you who want to explore, I would use this visitor information to ensure you have everything you need! However, I would strongly advise against a solo journey! As explained in the “entrance” section, scammers are prevalent! Their persistent attitude in trying to sell you fake tickets will make you feel uncomfortable, and you don’t want to feel like that on vacation! So, I will highlight an experience that will allow you to comfortably visit the pyramids and return with the best travel photos of your life!

My Recommendation for your Pyramids Visit

Imagine returning from Egypt with the best souvenir a tourist can obtain: an Instagram-worthy photo of you in the Giza pyramid complex!

But not just any photo; we’re talking about images that are so stunning that they could be framed in a museum.

Thanks to my friend, Fady, you can make that possible! Don’t believe me? Check out the results of my experience! I cannot recommend his experience enough! He is the best curator for the Pyramids of Giza experience!

He even picks you up from your Cairo hotel to bring you to the complex and ensure you enter safely and hassle-free!

It’s not just about visiting the Great Pyramids of Giza; it’s about experiencing them in a truly unique and exclusive way.

Imagine a personalized photo shoot, exploring the complex at your own pace, capturing moments just for you. I am linking the information to the experience here so you can make it happen.

I am including a few more photos below if you need more convincing. I had to include my favorite souvenir in the photo shoot, Hard Rock Cafe T-shirts!

So that leaves only one question! Are you planning on visiting the Pyramids of Giza? Let me know in the comments or reach out to me here!
